Guru Poornima

ॐ गुरुर्ब्रह्मा गुरुर्विष्णुर्गुरुर्देवो महेश्वरः।
गुरुः साक्षात्परं ब्रह्म तस्मै श्रीगुरवे नमः॥१॥

gurur brahmā gurur viṣṇur gurur devo maheśvaraḥ,
guruḥ sākṣāt paraṁ brahma tasmai śrī-gurave namaḥ.

Guru who is Brahmā [the Creator], Viṣṇu [the Maintainer] and Śiva [the Great Lord through whom all things return to their origin]. To that Guru who is the direct experience of Brahman, salutations.

अखण्ड-मण्डलाकारम् व्याप्तम् येन चराचरम्।
तत्पदम् दर्शितम् येन तस्मै श्री गुरवे नमह्॥

akhaṇḍa-maṇḍalākāram vyāptam yena carācaram|
tatpadam darśitam yena tasmai śrī gurave namah||

(Which) pervades the entire unbroken form of the circle (of creation), moving and unmoving.
To that beautiful and benevolent Guru through whom that state was revealed (to me), salutations

“Guru” word is used traditionally for spiritual teacher / Master. “Gu” means darkness or ignorance. “Ru” means remover. So Guru is a one who removes the darkness of ignorance!

Guru Poornima is a special occasion to express Gratitude for Guru Tattva that helps us to progress on our Spiritual Journey. Anyone who helps us to walk further on the path is our Guru, irrespective of whether that person is well-known personality or unknown to the world.

Matru devo bhava – Pitru devo bhava

My Mother and father are my first Gurus who taught me all the basics and helped to stand on my own feet.

JK2

I was attracted to the great philosopher and world teacher J. Krishnamurti at the age of 14 while in school and had my first Satori experience in his presence. (Jiddu Krishnamurti was promoted as “World Teacher” by Theosophical Society but he never accepted such things! He did not even like to be a Guru of someone!!) This experience started deep spiritual enquiry as I grew up and propelled me on the spiritual path.

chinmayananda

During college days (1976 to 1980) I had many occasions to learn Vedanta from great Master, Swami Chinmayananda. His discourses on Bhagwad Geeta and Upanishads gave most wanted insights during those days and my love for scriptures grew from there onwards!

Muktananda

In my second year of engineering (1980) I had gone to Vajreshwari with a friend and met this great Shaktipat master Swami Muktananda who gave tivra shaktipat that kept me in trans state for a long time. He was also the great exponent of Kashmir Shaivism and loved Laxmanjoo Maharaj of Kashmir. So my love for Kashmir Shaivism and its profound understanding came to me without me doing anything! It’s purely Guru-Kripa!!

Osho1

The great Love affair with Osho happened! The most magnificent Master! He talked on so many subjects. I was introduced to Zen, Tao, Sufism and many such mystical traditions. Also came to know about many spiritual masters of world tradition. My interest in meditation got firmly established at Osho ashram, Pune. When he left his body, I was there…fully shattered as the journey into unknown had started but I was nowhere near the end!

Prem-on-himself

Soon I happened to meet Sri Dada Gavand at Yevoor Hills, Thane, My Satguru who spared his time to answer each and every question of mine, removed all my doubts, clearly specified the Sadhana for me and guided me to the end… Atma-vyapti (Enlightenment) happened! (13.07.1993) What a blessing of Life!

Ranjit Maharaj

My friend introduced me to another great Advaita Master Sri Ranjit Maharaj at Mumbai. He guided me to settle in God Consciousness – Shiv-vyapti – Liberarion and also gave tips on how to express it!

Kriya came to me in year 2000 when Babaji appeared to me at our home, taught me Kriya and gave all the knowledge about Kriya Kundalini Yoga. This meeting with Babaji which lasted about an hour in Divya-deha is the greatest blessings of Life!!!! I am an instrument of Babaji who is instructed to spread modern fast track Kriya Yoga and Householders’ Spirituality to the whole world.

Bhagwati Maiji

In 2001, while wandering in Himalayas, mystically I met my past birth Mother Bhagwati Maiji at Pandukeshwar near Badrinath. She helped me to understand my further journey from where it had stopped in my last birth.

She also introduced me to many Himalayan Masters who helped me to understand spirituality and propelled me further on the path. In the due course I met many Himalayan Masters… Sri Narayan Giri, Gopi Baba, Mukteshwar Giri, Pilot Baba, Gorakh Babaji and many more known and unknown saints of Himalaya!

Another Blessing of Life came in July 2004, when on Guru Poornima day I was initiated on the banks of Mansarovar during our Kailas Manasarovar yatra with Sri Gorakh Babaji!

Life gave me wonderful opportunity of meeting many great Masters… Vimala Thakar at Mount Abu, Sri Ramesh Balsekar at Mumbai, Sant Amitabh at Panchgini, Kiran Swami at Pune, Brahmarshi Subhash Patriji at Hyderabad and Sun Yogi Uma Shankarji at Kolkata. I would like to express my gratitude to all.

Patriji

Brahmarshi Subhash Patriji motivated me to move out of comfort zone and serve people in villages and towns. Thus was formed Enlightenment Education Society, to spread Enlightenment Education all over world. Thank you very much, Sir!

Everyone has one or many Gurus according to the requirement of the journey and the work which you are supposed to do on planet earth. All Gurus help you to prepare yourself to do that work which you are destined to do. So Gurus can be many but “Moksha Guru” is only one who guides you life after life, until your monadic journey is over! On this Guru Poornima day, I bow down – with my heart full of Love and Gratitude to my Moksha Guru, Immortal Yogi of Himalaya – Sri Mahavatar Babaji.

Yogiraj

On this Guru Poornima, with Love and Gratitude in our heart, we bow down to our Moksha Guru Sri Mahavatar Babaji, Our guiding light Yogiraj Amar Jyoti and all the Gurus of Guru-Mandala. May the blessings from all the Gurus help us to awaken the Guru Tattva within.

ENLIGHTENED BILLIONAIRE

This log of wood entered the stream, the journey of life. Whenever and wherever it got stuck, some master pushed it back into the stream, the river of life! Ultimately it reached its destination, the ocean! What best other than these blessings can one get from life? Life has given me so much! I bow down to all the great Masters of the world. I bow down to Guru tattva that is ticking in all Masters! I bow down to Buddha within you all!

Heartfelt Gratitude!!!

Shivoham,

Om Prem

The lotus feet of our Guru are the only way by which we can attain worthiness of pure spiritual service. I bow to His lotus feet with great awe and reverence. By His grace anyone with learning attitude can overcome stressful modern living and cross the ocean of material suffering, with clear understanding and light of awareness.

In each meeting I have my consciousness purified by His energy field. One after another He removed my darkened layers, filled me with transcendental knowledge. At the end of each session I feel myself spiritually vitalized, liberated to a higher realm and truly blessed.

On this auspicious day of Guru Poornima, I express my deep gratitude to Guruji and Guruma for all the transformations that happened in this life. I have absolutely no qualification to be here in this spiritual journey, it’s all Guru Kripa. The truth I realized is: “Guru Kripahi Kevalam”, nothing else matters.

I feel no amount of wealth of this world would be proper “Guru Dakshina” for what I have received from Guruji in this life. Therefore it is wise to convert my life to “Guru Dakshina”, by living a life which fully reflects His teachings. Also joining His Mission and spreading His messages to the mass. On this day of Guru Poornima in 2014, I reaffirm my commitment to the Divine Mission of Guruji. I dedicate my life for this cause and shall continue till this body remains.

On this journey at a certain stage automatically full surrender happened to our Moksha Guru Mahavatar Babaji. Since then I constantly float and swim in the ocean of pure love. All thoughts, words and actions are under constant divine guidance. It is an existence of pure bliss. No worldly word will be ever able to express my heart-felt praise to Babaji, rather I join you in singing: “Om Mangalam; Omkar Mangalam; Guru Mangalam; Guru Paad Mangalam”.

    Humbly with Love,

    Rishi Pragyanand Anubhuti

Hindus attach paramount importance to spiritual gurus . Gurus are often equated with God and always regarded as a link between the individual and the Immortal. Just as the moon shines by reflecting the light of the sun, and glorifies it, all disciples can dazzle like the moon by gaining from their Gurus.
